Prior to posting your product/service, confirm that it's permitted on BrownBag and find out if there are precise policy and terms on how it should be posted. Sellers must also confirm that the selling of their item conform with all laws.
Make sure your posting follows these rule. If you violate these rules you postings may be deleted, and you may be presented by a range of other actions, including suspension of your buying and selling privileges and cancellation of your account.
BrownBag's guidelines are rules that facilitate a protected, just and pleasant e-commerce environment for all BrownBag members. As a seller, you are in charge of evaluating and understanding BrownBag's selling policies, as well as all applicable laws and regulations as outlined in the TERMS OF USE.
Based on Philippine Laws, below are the "Prohibited and Restricted Items":
- Pornographic or illicit material or activities of any type;
- Escort services
- Gambling operations, including "virtual casinos";
- Merchant engaging in "receipt of payment in advance" operation module;
- Pyramid selling or multi-levels commission earning structure;
- Goods, products, services or distributions prohibited by any applicable law or under the rules, regulations or directives of any Card Association;
- Military items, including but not limited to, firearms, weapons, knives, ammunition, silencers, ammunition magazines, BB guns, tear gas or stun guns
- Prescriptions drugs or Nonprescription drugs that make false or misleading treatment claims or treatment claims that require governmental approval.
- Prohibited or illegal drugs, including but not limited to, weed, substances and items used to manufacture controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
- Alcohol or tobacco products
- Fireworks, including but not limited to "safe and sane" fireworks or any destructive devices or explosives.
- Blood, bodily fluids or body parts
- Counterfeit currency, coins and stamps, tickets, as well as equipment designed to make them
- Counterfeit, replica, or knock-off brand name goods
- Any items, such as tickets, coupons or gift cards, the transfer of which may be prohibited
- Restricted or regulated plants and insects, including but not limited to noxious weeds, endangered plant species, or live insects or pests
- Pesticides or hazardous substances, or items containing hazardous substances.
- Illegal telecommunications equipment, including but not limited to access cards, password sniffers, access card programmers and unloopers, or cable descramblers.
- Stolen property, or property with serial number removed or altered
- Burglary tools, including but not limited to lock-picks or motor vehicle master keys.
- False identification cards, items with police insignia, citizenship documents, or birth certificates
- items that support violence, hatred, racial discrimination or prejudice, or objects that encourage groups with such views.
- Goods, products, services or distributions of any class or type, whether or not similar to those specified above, which BrownBag may in its absolute discretion (but shall not be under any duty to) designate, from time to time, as being subject to this definition and notice thereof being given to any merchant.
When a policy breach occurs, BrownBag will email the seller. Repercussions of violating BrownBag Prohibited Items polices can result to:
- Product listing deletion
- Loss of Accredited Seller / Merchant status
- Restrictions on account privileges
- Account suspension
